Hi Folks. My name is Crusty and I'm worried about feminism.
I've only been lurking in this thread and browsing MRA sites for a relatively short time, though I have been thinking about the issues raised therein for quite a while now. I'd like to learn more and maybe help do something about the unfortunate way that things seem to be heading.
I have to say that I'm very impressed with the thoughtfulness and level-headedness of most of the MRA material I have read so far. Some of the blogs and web sites are really very good indeed - well done to those men and women who obviously devote a lot of time to them.
I am fortunate to be happily married to a great lady. She's from Asia and I note with interest (tinged with concern) that feminists really do seem to have a special problem with guys like me (on top of all the usual problems that is). A lot of cliques, stereotyping and bias about cross-cultural relationships. Can anyone point me at some good earlier discussion threads about this particular issue?
And can I also ask you guys:
How many of those who maintain MRA blogs or post a lot of material were at one stage sympathetic to the feminist perspective (but then woke to smell the coffee etc)?
How any of those who maintain MRA blogs or web sites have had problems with stalkers, people making serious threats, etc, and as a result do many people use a false name (or now wish they did)?
All the best, Crusty
