Well if it were me I would get a secret DNA test. It is legal in the UK. You can get them on the internet about £100 for a dad and child. More accurate if you can get the mum as well. It would at least give you a pointer.

Even if she is not yours, I think you are legally obligated to financially support her as if she was in most places.

Even if you are unemployed at the time of the divorce, I understand you could be forced to pay alimony and child support based on how much you were making at your last job.

As others have said, get a lawyer and a paternity test. But before you actually throw in the towel, consider going to couple's therapy. Do your research and make sure it's not some man-hater or anything, but it's possible you could work things out and might just need a professional to offer some advice. And if it doesn't work, it'll still show the judge that you tried to be responsible.

The paternity test may not actually protect you from child support if it's not your kid though. In many places, the fact that the kid was born while you were married automatically makes you responsible. In others, the fact that you acted as a father makes you responsible. But it's probably good to get just so you can know and figure out how you'd like to proceed.

Saving the texts is a good idea.

Aside from that, you may want to consider your assets. Do you have a joint bank account? You might want to speak with the bank and put some protection in there against her draining it before the divorce.

Most important is that you speak with a lawyer. Many have free initial consultations and can work out payment plans.
