I'm very put off by this ad. If you switched the man and the woman, people would flip! It's ridiculous.

He's short and round, she's gangly and ginger, they look happy together. What difference would it make the other way around? You perceive the 'its complicated' as a judgement on the male? I assume that the advert is just a visual of a 'complicated' relationship.
