Almost all of our readers are women, most of them are educated and many of them are quite politically liberal. Because of this large, diverse and progressive readership, we deal with community issues that perhaps wouldn't be such a problem on smaller sites. And lately, I've started to notice a disturbing trend.

lol. Diverse eh? That word... I do not think it means what you think it means...

Other than that, the article is alright... mostly.

Surprisingly good article, that identifies the problem very well, and doesn't attempt to soft-pedal or disown it - since it was written by a liberal journalist in the Guardian, I was expecting a but (for example, something like "but this pales in comparison to the systematized bullying of women and minorities"), but there was no but.

I've read about 3 recent articles from different sources that basically espouse the same viewpoint, I mean identical reasoning.

It's like progressive journalists are a hive-mind, that or they lack creativity.

Most of the time they don't even bully. They just simply don't allow any dissenting opinions (e.g. comments don't get past moderators, accounts are banned, etc..). I'm not liberal, progressive, right wing, left wing, conservative, or anything. I'm just me. But, I do have to give conservatives credit. They may use a ton of shaming language and make a lot of personal attacks (as do liberals) when they don't like something I stay, but they almost always let the comment through. Liberals, ESPECIALLY feminists, absolutely do not tolerate speech they don't approve of. It seems the people that scream "tolerance" the most are the least tolerant of free speech.
