Since women make the majority of purchases, the ads will be catered to them. Humor is a great tool for implanting their product favorably in your head.

Like the article said, I can handle my gender being the butt of the occasional joke. However, what I can't stand is the fact that the opposite side is so viciously fought against. How dare you make a woman feel inferior!

The double standard is utter bullshit.

On a side note, advertisements in an already overpriced movie theater is bullshit.

I believe I saw it on cracked, and it had something to do with women's image as portrayed by Hollywood. One of the things brought up was attempting to portray the "strong, independent, I don't need no man" type woman. To achieve this movies would portray women beating men up for the sole reason that they are men. One example they gave was the hero calling on the heroine at the beginning of the film, only to have her swing down from her hiding spot and knock him to the ground. He was a man, and she was a strong, independent, empowered woman, so what was she to do other than beat his lights out?

Kinda says something about how our society perceives FVM. Or why it perceives it that way.
