If you have reason to believe you're about to be doxxed like VA was by Gawker. Here is a script that scrubs your account before you delete it. Since reddit won't take a hard stance on this issue it is likely to happen more often now.

This bot's info page is being investigated by reddit admins for using javascript exploits to take over your browser and reddit account, even if you don't give it your password.

the full details are in the source link below, basicly its not doing it anymore, but basicly, some funky things happened when one mod attempted to open the link that matched behaviour of spyware, viruses, and it set off his redflag. but this seems to only happen a few times and stopped. admins have found nothing so far but aren't done looking into it.

Note: the fact the bot still exists even though reddit admins know about the reports of funky behaviour (user account wise), means the report hasn't been confirmed. click at your own risk, but nothing has been confirmed either way.

Handy! I wouldn't have had to ditch my old account if I knew about this. I wasn't docked by SRSers or anything, but I got to see how invasive the media can be when it wants to be. (Lesson: going viral is overrated)
