if they just held rape to the same standard of proof for every other crime and gave the accused anonymity until there was a conviction this wouldn't be an issue.

Signed and facebooked the petition with the following comment: To better understand my position on this issue, read this blog: http://breakingtheglasses.blogspot.com/2012/07/the-seriousness-of-charge.html The only thing that I would add is that I think pitting the rights of the falsely accused against the rights of the genuinely victimized is a false argument. Though the arguments against compromising due process rights do stand on their own merits, I think it is important to point out that violating the due process rights of falsely accused men will not - prevent rape - act as a substitute for handling actual perpetrators - unrape existing victims - in any other way achieve anything resembling justice

The only thing it does is add second set of victims to the mix.
