Has anyone actually held this date rape drug in there hands?

I mean, I talk to women and it is like in every bar there are a half dozen men every night spiking peoples drinks.

But for the life of me, I know no one that is that self loathing to use a date rape drug to have sex with someone. I mean, I am on the other side of the fence from these chicks, and a guy that can only get sex by going out to a bar and drugging a chick - that isn't really an appealing fantasy. Self loathing is a pretty good way of describing it.

But if it is as frequent then I am led to believe - then why don't I know this sort of person?

I believe it is a myth. I don't think it happens at all. The real rape drug is just simple alcohol. And consent. And then regret.

The whole "spiked drink" pandemic is a bunch of the usual hyperbole we've become so accustomed to .

That it has happened and will happen again is not in doubt . What is seriously misrepresented is the incidence rate . A woman is probably more likely to get hit by lightning than to have her drink spiked and then be raped .

Just think about it : If you're dating a girl and you've had sex with her before , what do you need to spike her drink for ? If you don't know her , what's the point of spiking her drink at a bar ? Sure , maybe she'll get totally loaded but the odds that she's going home with you are already pretty remote .

I'm not saying rape doesn't occur or that drinks have never been spiked . I'm not suggesting that there aren't a million other possible scenarios in which a man may have a plan to rape a woman using roofies . I'm simply pointing out that it's not really a very practical method . If you can't get laid without drugging a woman first , what kind of person are you to begin with ? Somebody who couldn't manage to bring a random woman home from the bar in the first place .

Anyway , with all the press this supposed pandemic gets of course women are going to jump to the conclusion that every time they get so wasted that they can't remember half the night it must be because of some drug they unknowingly ingested . It's the same reason people who see a light in the sky assume it must be a UFO rather than the billion other more likely possibly explanations .

Seeing a UFO is a lot more interesting than saying you saw hot air balloon . Same goes for roofies . It sure does make us feel a lot more entitled to attention when we can relate a story where we were somehow victimized .

You know she's going to spend the rest of her life telling everybody within earshot that she had a close call with date rape ... you know that right ?

If someone else spiked her drink and you'd been more successful, you would no doubt have noticed something was wrong with her and helped her. So that wouldn't necessarily have been a bad situation.

But yeah, I can see how this is frightening.

Sometimes if you drink something you rarely have/haven't have before it affects your mind very differently.

Not saying someone didn't spike her drink later, but it sounds a lot like she got blitzed and paranoid because getting blitzed didn't usually feel like that for her. (edit: the day after getting blitzed felt different for her, I mean)

Advice: Don't score with drunk women you don't know. They can hurt you. It doesn't matter if everyone else does it, it is risky and can hurt you.

I don't think this chick understands how date-rape drugs work (or alcohol for that matter, it's been known to make a person or two feel sick). What would be the point of you drugging her, and then letting her leave? Either you're the stupidest rapist in the world, or she doesn't understand that alcohol isn't all sunshine and daisies, especially when you drink too much.

This sounds like she's trying to absolve herself of the regret she feels for cheating on her boyfriend. Although, not to sound like a PUA, but I think if you HAD been more successful, she would not have accused you of trying to rape her. There would be no regret, because she obviously doesn't love her bf and is looking for someone "higher status" than he. If she really does have a boyfriend.

I'm not going to outright state that drink spiking/roofie rape, etc is all urban myth, but IF it does actually happen, it's a fractional minority of the danger people seem to think it is.

A few anecdotes from my personal experience:

a girl I knew in college was a serious binge drinker. She was constantly drinking herself into incoherence, sometimes hooking up with guys in that state, sometime being poured into the bathtub by her friends. The number of times I heard her claim to have "been slipped something" is beyond count.
I used to hang out EVERY weekend at a gothic/industrial nightclub where pretty much everyone knew everyone. One night a chick who I was well acquainted with, but not close friends, drank herself into oblivion. I watched it happen, and her friends ended up carrying her sloppy drunk ass out of the bar. The next weekend there were hand lettered signs all over the bar warning people of the "spiking incident" the week before. When I asked the bartender who it was, and he told me, I was like "dude, wtf? she wasn't drugged, you guys sold her like 10 drinks". He said "yeah, I know...everyone knows, but 'Mary' (one of the staff) has such a hardon for this spiking thing we're just staying out of her way".
One I can produce a reference for. A couple of years ago, the local news (Seattle area), was reporting police busted an underage party. They found about a dozen girls passed out drugged. One they found in the ACT of being raped. Preliminary inestigation was that at the party boys were careful to drink from "blue" cups, while the girls were given the drugged "red" cups. This extremely unlikely story was bounced around a few days before facts started coming out. Turns out toxicology results showed no drugs at all. There was no boy/girl cups. The girl who was being raped was actually having consensual sex with her long time boyfriend. A one night stand is a false rape accusation waiting to happen. I'd recommend never doing any. All the sluts can be tempting, but it's a bad idea. If you're going to do it anyway at least stay anonymous and use protection. She might not even accuse you out of malice. Maybe you have sex and then she goes out for more and ends up drugged and raped. She just remembers you and now you're in trouble when the police asks what she remembers.

The biggest problem though are all the child support hunters. They're out on the hunt at night.
