Any man can be discriminated against by both men and women. Straight men are often told to man-up by other men just as well as we are told we're not real men unless we do x, y or z by women. I can see gay men having an extra set of discrimination targets on their backs such as being effeminate or flamboyant then you're not considered a real man or something.

What's sad is that being called gay is used to shame straight men as if being gay is a bad thing.

I am not gay but in high school (where most bullying was done) was good friends with several closeted gay guys. Most all of their harassment, and the harshest of it (I am talking physical assault, homes and cars vandalized severely, etc.) came from other guys, but I did see it come from girls too, usually the girlfriends of the main bullies.

if you're interested in a larger data pool, you may want to also ask this to /r/ainbow. i'd suggest /r/lgbt, but that sub is heavily moderated and not very open to free discussion. /r/ainbow is a sub that was started up in response to the heavy-handed environment in /r/lgbt.

in response to your question, yes i've seen such things as well. the reality is members of both genders can be prone to enforcing traditional sexual norms and can react very negatively to those who step outside them.

I'm straight, but I've seen this a lot. Hell, I've seen women who assume guys are gay just because they're not stereotypical jocks.
