Ok, after reading the farce that was the two x discussion on false allegations of rape i just had to actually get this down as a way of venting.

False allegations are not the same crime as rape, to draw comparison with the rape itself allows for the whole " women are the real victims of false allegations " , no that is bullshit its a disservice to victims of rape ( who dear feminists can be male or female ) are victims of a crime that is treated and viewed rightfully as a sinister and horrific crime and has been given special treatment within law , someone falsely accused of rape has become a victim because of the fact that they have been wrongly accused of a horrific crime , a crime that because of its status creates almost immediate disbelief of the accused.

I havent met an MRA who says that rape isnt a problem, I have met many who belive in fact that while male victims of rape are ignored that female victims of rape are in fact being made victims by the organisations that claim to represent them because they are not given the correct facts, the 7% conviction rape statistic used by several feminist groups in the uk for example creates the image that a woman coming forward would not be belived as so few are convicted, this is the attrition rate for rape convictions, no crime is judged on this statistic when you look at the actual conviction rate its 58% which is the same as every other major crime , there is as much chance of a murderer being convicted as there is a rapist now that changes the playing field a little bit.

And finally, and this is the double standard that pisses me off the most , the number of people i hear complaining about media coverage of false allegations , laws have been changed, amended and pushed for on the idea that women dont lie about rape, the accused is treated as guilty based just on the accusation and not on the burden of proof , this was done after lobbying to get the changes so there is a counter balance, when rape was elevated beyond other crimes the expectation has to be on people to be truthful, and conversely if someone lies then it is something that is just as serious.

You cant have it both ways.
