It's not only that, but without your consent, and many of us have had complications from it, I for one, get zero to hardly any feeling from sex as a result of it being done wrong. If people want that, it's a-okay with us, but everyone should have the choice of whether or not they want to go through with a dangerous procedure.

I don't hate my parents/etc. because it's not really their fault. When I was born, circumcision was so routine that the hospital just did it. My problem is with the medical establishment which does it this way, not because it's good for the child, but because they earn money selling the foreskins to cosmetics companies. My problem is that our society recognizes the barbarity in FGM (having outlawed it at the federal level), but fights tooth and nail to retain the practice of MGM. My problem is that the practice itself only became routine as a way to discourage masturbation...i.e. it's rooted in the demonization of male sexuality. My problem is that it's an unnecessary cosmetic procedure, which is done without the consent of the patient (as the patient is an infant and can not yet give consent). My problem is that the procedure can cause death and permanent disfigurement (i.e. skin bridges, etc.) without being offset by a comparable benefit.

It's for all of those reasons and more that stopping non-consensual MGM is, and will continue to be, a men's rights issue, and an issue I personally support.

No one wants to ban it completely. Just for infants and for no good reason.

I see no reason why a man can't choose to get circumcised when he's old enough to understand the decision he's making, or if it's being done for medical purposes.

But yeah, really? JUST removing part of your penis? That's huge. I really can't sympathize with you here. It's just that crazy.
