Im going to tell you right now...this is not some stupid story I made up to troll on here. I just want opinions on something that really happened. I had a young 8th grade teacher who Im sure was femenist. Saying I only had feelings for her would be an understatement but I dont like to use the L word. I didnt even know her. She was really attractive and wasnt really comfortable around her. She and the other teachers knew this. They also all knew wich students got picked on and who other students had low opinions of...probably because they shared the same opinions. I was and still am one of those quiet students who gets picked on. I was wondering if this has anything to do with her giving me Mikela:Memoirs of a Masaii Woman for a personal reading assignment. The main character is a Kenyan woman who was circumcised..and raped. Everybody got different books. Some kids got books about sports, but I got this 300 page memoir about rape and circumcision and the struggles of a Kenyan woman. I was thinking how could this pertain to me and what could I absorb from this book that would be a help to me. The teacher said she also had to read a book called Baby steps. I started reading and my teacher told the class how I was reading quietly. I thought that was weird since she usually gave me the look of disapproval and mimicked me. What were her motives for giving me this book? Do think I should have got that book?
