I'm 21 years old now and for the last 2-3 years I've been strugglin' in University (Belgium), because of lack of motivation. I felt like I was forced to study and I had no real goal aside from making money. Right now I study to become a real estate agent. But with the study point system in Belgium it's almost impossible for me (long story). The last months I've been thinking where my life would go if I had no degree.

But yesterday I was hanging out at my best friends place and we were having a beer with his dad. My best friend studied something with working on cars, he's pretty handy when it comes to this kind of stuff. His dad mentioned a potential job offer for his son and friends. He has this billionare friend who basically develops boat engines or that kind of stuff.

He's looking for people to work on the boat engines from what I understood. We'd have to work abroad for 3 weeks, then stay home for 3 weeks. Work in countries all over the world and everything gets paid for (hotel, food, ...). He'd pay 10 000 euros for 3 weeks, that's a lot here in Belgium. The average person here earns 20 000 a year. The problem is... I don't know anything about engines but my friend's father told me it's fine, that the company will train me and that it's not that difficult, most people just don't want to do it because they don't want to leave their family for 3 weeks on and off.

But for me... this is the perfect opportunity. I don't ever want kids, neither does my friend. I'd be able to see whole the world with my best friend (I'd have to work ofcourse but still...). Gets paid a lot... I could be a millionare by the age of 35. It feels like I have a goal in my life now and it feels amazing. But my friend is 19 and his parents want him to get a degree first, this will probably take another 2-3 years. So if we went through with this... It would be in 2-3 years. That's plenty of time for me to learn about engines, etc.

I know I have to keep both feet on the ground. The idea of doing this makes me so happy and motivated. I think I want to discuss it with my friend and his father. Maybe even meet his father's friend so he can give us more info or maybe train me.

My question is: Do you guys have advice? Advice about this whole thing. I barely see my father so it's hard to discuss with him. He never taught me anything about engines or all that stuff that most fathers teach their sons. Any advice on how I can learn about engines? If you guys think this is a good idea or not?
