Good. This answers my first question.

My second question is: How will this affect child support law? If a woman can name any man on a birth certificate, is that sufficient evidence to force an man who is in actuality not the father to pay child support?

Others believe that it will give the father automatic legal access rights to the child -- which is also incorrect.

But being a parent to a child gives automatic legal access rights to the child for females? Gee, sounds awfully fucking sexist to me.

I fully support the right of children to know the identity of their biological parents, I'm just worried about unintended consequences of this law.

In other news, it seems that Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, and Larry Ellison are all about to father an absolutely massive amount of Irish children once the new legislation goes active.

Do they have financial abortion in Ireland? I mean there is no way of knowing how many people those women have slept with, they could just name whomever and expect to get money.

Around 4,000 children do not have their father named on their birth cert every year.

I think the only person who should be allowed to put the father's name on the Birth certificate is the father himself. If he does not sign it he has no rights or responsibilities. If he does sign it then he should have 50/50 custody, unless something can not be worked out.
