An average housewife would make almost as much as a fucking doctor? What?

The 2005 economic survey revealed the income distribution for households and individuals whereby the top 5% of individuals had six figure incomes (exceeding $100,000) and the top 10% of individuals had incomes exceeding $75,000

So according to the wall street journal (its just a blog entry but thats now how she makes it look) average housewives should make more than 95% of everyone else.

All this time I should have been practising my dusting instead of earning degrees. What a fool ive been. Oh wait no, got my head stuck up my ass for a sec...that would just be stupid.

I dug down to find the source of the 138,095 figure.

Those jobs are housekeeper, day care center teacher, cook, computer operator, laundry machine operator, janitor, facilities manager, van driver, CEO and psychologist.

Mom cooks dinner? Professional chef. Mom checks email? IT department. Mom makes decision about signing daughter up for pottery class? CEO. Mom soothes crying kid after he fails a math test? Clearly, she must be compensated like someone who has a PHD in psychology.

This is simply an exercize in abuse of numbers with no basis in reality. Families can and do pay minimum wage to hire nannies or other homekeepers to perform all or most of the work described in that article. You could hire four people and still come out under half of what they're saying here.
