When blacks kill whites in the thousands each year due to their race

Doesn't the reverse happen too?

almost all rapes in prison are by blacks against whites because of their race

Yeah, I'm gonna need a citation for that.

Yet when one black thug gets himself killed by a hispanic guy the media claims it was an evil white man killing a poor innocent black kid.

It was a significant case because it seems to quite literally be a crazy hispanic guy killing an innocent black kid for no reason. Plus there was luck.

Race is a touchy subject in the USA, so anything crossing racial boundaries is more significant than not. Man kills man isn't as big a deal as white man kills black man, or black man kills white man; we jump to thinking "racism!" in either case, adds another layer.

Everybody is constantly aware of how African-Americans are descended from slaves owned by white people, so when a white person kills a black person we jump to "Oh shit that guy is a racist who likes slavery" or something.
