At first I wondered why this was in Men's Rights, but then it becomes apparent that the author of the video is connecting this to some kind of biologically-driven conspiratorial behavior of women against men.

I appreciated the clarity of this guy's argument but I do find it very lacking in substance. Mostly the fact that he connects female rape fantasy to a kind of evolutionary psychology thing, where there is this Foucauldian power game, equating it to a method of female subversion to pit males against other males at the behest of the female, and to acquire protection. That's where the tinfoil hat comes out. Certainly this might be how it works out in a sexy drama like HBO's "Rome" or something, but I think this is way too grand of a statement. "Men are being suckered into the same old deal again. They are being tricked into thinking they are powerful by these rape fantasy-having girls, but they are just being forced to pay the same child support/whatever as before" is pretty much a TL;DR of what that guy is getting at after he posits this theory. IMO it's a bit whacky.

In my humble experience understanding this, I really think it is just about getting their rocks off and nothing more. Women play this rape game with men they have no intention of taking home to Mom and Dad; if anything they might be more inclined to share this fantasy with a one night stand. I think it has nothing to do with trying to secure an "aggressive, dangerous mate" to protect you or anything. Many women have rather docile boyfriends but will share this fantasy with them and try to have them be a part of it, because it's a bedroom thing.

They are attracted to the idea of being dominated, of the passionate anger and roughness associated with the idea of it. They are a peasant girl in the Hungarian farmland and being ravaged by a handsome German soldier or some shit. They are not imagining being violated by some disgusting fuck, bleeding, utterly fearing for their life. They are imagining enjoying the act of being used sexually, vigorously, being dominated as a slave/submissive/etc. etc. There's no greater machination to the idea, no crazy female mind control attempt; it's a means of getting off. And it's about as far from real rape as any other kind of sex, I agree with the guy about that. Consensual sex is consensual sex, even with the silly roleplay. Rape is rape, by definition it isn't any fun.

The plural of anecdote is anecdotes, not evidence-- regardless of how eloquently put. A few case studies is hardly enough to convince, the historic cases only loosely connected, and most of the ideas stated without justification. I think it's a subject worth discussion but I don't think this guy argues a strong case.

Most women I've discussed sex with will admit they have a rape fantasy (once you ask enough detailed questions regarding their love for "rough sex" will the woman finally admit that it's actually a rape fantasy). However, most women (in my experience) will also get really angry if you make the claim that most women have a rape fantasy.

I read a good comment in this subreddit that said something like, "The craziness in women stems from the simultaneous attraction and repulsion to power," and I thought that was spot-on and extremely relevant to cognitive dissonance surrounding rape fantasy. However, I mentioned that theory that to the girl I'm dating a few nights ago and her response was "fuck you." I just laughed. Then we had rough sex.
