The following is a story I heard recently and I would like to know what a red pilled person would make of it. 

  So, it starts with two roommates of the opposite sex, both in their mid 20s. Lets call the male Dave, and the female Meekatharra.

Dave and Meekatharra are both straight, and they are both best friends. Dave doesn't have any romantic feelings for Meekatharra, but he does find her attractive. One day he escalates and hooks up with Meekatharra. Dave thought that it would be no big deal, but Meekatharra thought they were in love. Meekatharra was very hurt when Dave said that he doesn't want a relationship, and just wants to be friends. They go their separate ways and are no longer friends. Dave feels bad because he thought Meekatharra was really cool, and he wanted to continue being friends.
