Snooker: no woman in the top 30. Do we need quotas for women? In snooker there is no strength advantage, nor is there any reason for a condescending rule to make lady snooker players feel inferior.

I think there are better arguments that can be made than by saying "look at this game: women aren't in the top players in the world, and thus quotas don't make sense."

It is too easy to misconstrue that as a statement about the relative capabilities of men and women, and too easy to refute it based on social factors.

You also see this in many other games where this is no strength advantage. Look at most "professional" video game setups: Why is it necessary to have women-only tournaments/leagues?

Not sure what point you are trying to make really but in all honesty I can't see why snooker isn't a mixed sport for the reasons you listed.
