Ridiculous, a man's life can be ruined by a mere ungrounded accusation.

Feminist have still failed to address the false-rape accusation issue.

A false accusation should carry severe penalties and men's names shouldn't be dragged through the mud on mere accusations.

Am I reading this wrong? It sounds like she cried rape a few days after the one night stand - then they gave her a "panic button", and then a few days after that she ran into him and pressed the button? So, the title is misleading at the very least, she reported the rape quite a bit before he could have a chance not to remember her name.

I don't know, something is weird about this. And it highlights the problems of prosecuting rape in general. The "halfway no during sex" scenario is so hard to prosecute (but probably common) that it's almost conceivable a victim would invent something spicier to make it more "believable". But of course, that rightfully destroys her case and opens her up to perjury charges. And it's the vagueness of everything that makes rape so easy to falsely accuse people of as well.

Sigh, this is why we need foolproof lie detectors, or simply tape all the sex.

Rape prosecutions should be just as difficult to process as any other prosecution. The fact that it's a damaging crime does not mean that people should be thrown into prison on mere allegations. Hard evidence should be required, and never, EVER, just a verbal testimony from the alleged victim.
