what a load of shit. everyone one the prosecutor isn't interested in justice. they are interested in (seemingly easily) putting another black man behind bars. They should throw out the case based on just that. EVERY self defense video evidence can be trolled this way, and the judge should call bullshit.

They should be using the full video as evidence because to not do so is just dishonest and obviously a deliberate attempt to mislead, but i'm guessing that under NY state law there will be a different definition of protection.

Most of the time when someone breaks into your house or business or threatens you, you are only allowed to use "reasonable" force to protect yourself and end the attack. The definition of what is reasonable in the situation is what the jury will have to decide, but i'd say that he probably was excessive but not to the point where it warrants a jail term. He must have hit them pretty hard to fracture her skull.

Another question to be asked is whether the girls were charged with assault and battery for their actions, because they're clearly guilty of that. That woman screaming stop is clearly stupid, she wasn't screaming stop when the guy was being verbally harassed, spat upon, and then chased down for doing his job.

Yeah she jumped over the counter, but he beat her repeatedly with that metal rod and was striking downward towards her on the floor. He hit her 6-7 times. How in the world could anyone call that self defense?

He could have made an effort to restrain her instead of continuing to hit her and I would call that reasonable.
