Well they sure did think it was funny at the time. If you pointed out the sexism they would think you had no sense of humor. That kind of stuff is so tacky. Shop at another store.

Nitpick: The ad says 'husbands,' whereas your rephrase statement reads 'women' and not 'wives.'

Gender-reversal is a common argument on this subreddit because it apply too often : ads, manifestos, laws... Freaks me out in the long run...

I get it, it is a joke. But it is based on discrimination that men can't pick colors and that women are all anal about what color their paint is. Sexist on both sides.

This is saying "lol spouses often disagree about color choice, resulting in angry wives", that would be saying "lol women are bad drivers". Those aren't similar. That isn't a gender reversal, that's just a sexist statement when this one isn't.

This is hardly an issue. If anything they're averting a terrible argument, and the sign is probably a joke that isn't actually applied.
