Uh, yes, women were oppressed by not having the vote. Don't even try to make such shitty fucking excuses.

So because some women-- who were told to believe that they didn't deserve to vote-- supported not letting any woman vote, it was okay to screw over a big chunk of the population's representation?

"Our ancestors lived in a very, very different world than we do, and their cultural norms were very, very different from ours, yet undoubtedly befitting to their world — a world mysterious and unknown to us nowadays. Who are we to judge?"

By that logic, racism and segregation were okay. After all, who are we to "judge?"

"Furthermore, women were never at any time deprived of any rights."

...What? Even when they couldn't hold any positions of power? Even when they were told they had to obey their husbands? Even when they weren't allowed the same amount of education or entry into college?

This article sickens me. If you want women and feminists to take you seriously, stop mocking us. Stop acting like it was okay the way things were, simply because "that's how it was." Stop acting like we don't have our own issues we're trying to work on. Yes, men have issues, but don't dismiss ours.
