So it is fair to say that if she believes the statement "Women don't need men except to laugh at" is true, then she must believe that the statement "Women don't need African-American men except to laugh at" is also true.

What is her problem with African-American men? Why are these racist sentiments being broadcast on a national TV network?

Absolutely fascinating interaction. Gentlemen, it is great practice to watch such exchanges and examine the details which tell the real story.

1) All of the men at the table, except one, are white knighting to an extreme level. One threatens to call security on the man who is hitting on the the female Atlantic author. The player is the only man holding the torch for men. The other men are constantly attacking and undermining him.

2) The newscaster woman is violently jealous of the Atlantic author's relatively youthful looks (compared to hers), which puts her in an incredibly irritable state. She deals with this by attacking the men at the table and men in general. She tries to divert attention to herself by any means necessary, such as random insults and one liners.

3) The Atlantic author is an incredibly high testosterone specimen of a female. Her mandible shape is so pronounced that she was probably exposed to more testosterone in utero than the majority of men. Hence, she is unable to commit and pursues sexual variety similar to an unrestrained male cad. This defining characteristic explains her entire personality, and why we can actually believe her when she says "I'm not worried about the biological clock." This is a female with male impulses. She likely played aggressive contact sports growing up, enjoys sex physically rather than emotionally, and has no desire to have children.

All of this can be gleaned with a trained eye. This woman is not the norm, and nor is she proper mating material for any man desiring to start a family. Her impulses are too strong to control, and would lead to disaster. Avoid committed relationships with such women at all costs.

Furthermore, the rise of high testosterone women is quite likely related to the selection bias many females have for high testosterone males. Testosterone production is not a complete Y-linked trait, as we can clearly see with the Atlantic author.

I don't think Kate Bolick was attacking men, I think Mika was the vindictive one. Kate even expressed the sentiment that she doesn't hate men - she is simply saying that there are different/non-traditional ways for people to live their lives now.

Mika, on the other hand, was interrupting the men frequently and not letting them get in a word edge-wise.
