Just bullshit projection. To me, false rape is not that she got raped and pointed the finger and someone else mistakenly. False rape is:

Consensual sex that she later regrets so she screams rape to protect her image.
No sex what-so-ever but accuses of rape to get the upper hand in a situation (like the girl that broke into the guy's house, then gets caught by him, the runs out the house screaming rape).

Both of these cases involve selfish motives that hurt the defending party (thanks to the sex-equals-ratings media his name will be plastered all over the world before he even sets foot in a courthouse). Even after the guy is innocent, people will avoid him "just in case." That, my friends, is the damage that needs to be compensated for.

Fixing this situation would be pretty simple: prevent the media from broadcasting anything about the accused before or during the trial. It's nobody else's business unless he's guilty. If he's not guilty, expunge the whole incident from his record.

I've never seen anyone argue a lower standard of evidence then usual for a criminal case.

Except for anti-rape advocates when it comes to rape trials.

This should be prosecuted. This is the behavior that most often sends innocent men to jail for decades. they want the man to prove he didn't rape, then they should have to prove it was a mistake.
