Stating that they "made a judgment call" doesn't imply anything about how wrong/right that judgment is; thought I made that clear when I said that they often make mistakes and may have done so in the Vancouver case.

In my original comment, I was trying to point out that based on my own knowledge a) foster care is not always the shithole some people make it out to be and b) the decision to take the daughter probably wasn't based solely on the isolated incident described in the article. I realize this is a charged issue for some people, but pointing out that CPS exists for a reason isn't an excuse to jump down my throat, and neither is trying to inform people a little more about what goes into the process of taking a kid away. I honestly can't figure out what I said that was so damn offensive.
