Because, ironically, there aren't many male teachers because of the assumption they will molest the students!

Just a thought; poor self esteem leading to finding admiration from socially unacceptable sources.

Women are less socialized to have cheating as an option the way men are (not saying it is condoned, just a bit more commonly portrayed in media).

A healthy, adult relationship might prevent such events. Sure, there are and will be bi-polar, Memphis out there. I have no data to back this up, this is just an opinion.

Availability heuristic. It's possible you don't see more cases, you just recall more cases (and more vivid and irksome cases), and so think the availability of cases in your memory corresponds to actually higher numbers.
Confirmation bias. Those cases where the woman is the perpetrator are more likely to stick with you, because they confirm your existing beliefs about the likelihood of women committing abuse compared to men.
Sampling bias. It's possible (and I would need to actually find numbers) that there are more reports of women because they are more sensationalist.

I'm not sure female on male statutory rape by teachers is the more common of the two, it might just get in the papers more. (Notthat woman aren't victimizing in other ways).
