I think everyone craves fame on some level, because society offers more resources, deference and protection to those with social status.

Women are notorious flirts because they are trying to drive up their market value. It is like if you were selling a house, if you want to get the highest price possible then you get the most buyers possible interested, and you get them as excited as possible. By doing that you get a higher selling price.

A woman barters her sexuality for resources and security. By 'driving up her price' by being seductive and flirty, she is building her SMV by getting as many men interested in her as possible to make herself seem more desirable to the males she actually wants to copulate with. Women use men to drive the woman's SMV up, that is what flakes, beta orbiters, attention whores, etc are fundamentally about.

No idea about the other part.

Fame is power, which helps getting access to better genes.

They call themselves hoes and bitches because then you can't beat them to it. Watch the last scene in 8 Mile for details on this.
