My ex once threatened over the phone that she was going to take my kids to China. I rang 999 hoping the police could stop her and they basically told me to get bent.

AFAIK, it's NOT a crime for one parent to go out of state with the kids. I do it a couple of times a year. I'd be pissed as hell if the cops harassed me for not having my husband at my elbow every time I went on vacation.

This is all about context. Until the unfortunate dude posting this gets his ass into court, there is no context that justifies police action.

In fact, I've heard that statistically most kidnappings are done by members of the family. It's not the person lurking in the bushes. Moral panics can blind us to the facts.

I saw this and got a little pissed. To me this is the definition of the lack of equality in the system, and a great example of how feminism has warped the justice system to it's own ends (as if divorce and child custody weren't proof enough).

If the genders were switched, there would be significantly more action taken, I'd put cash on that right now. And as long as that's true, then there's a SERIOUS problem with disguising feminism with the word "equality".
