The University of Delaware Men's Cross Country and Track and Field programs were cut and this January in order for the university to comply with Title IX. Women's Golf was upgraded from a club sport to a varsity sport to adhere to the federal law as well. However, the members of the team are now trying to use Title IX to bring the team back because the decisions made by the university "discriminated upon their sex." The Department of Education (Office for Civil Rights) has accepted their complaint and will investigate the decision made by the university.
