No, it's a term used to describe women who do that. It's not an actual crime, and I don't think it should it be, but I don't think women should be able to collect child support when they do this.

Then there is "paternity fraud"-- a real form of fraud which your friend may well be a victim of given that the circumstances here where the woman left him immediately, but unfortunately is also not a crime. This is where a woman says that a man is the father of a child, but she either knows he is not because she knows she was with other men at the time she was ovulating, or she was with other men but names him anyway even though she knows there's a good possibility it was not his. Given your friend's circumstances, I would not be surprised if it's not his child as empirical data from the laboratories that perform DNA tests show that about 30% of their tests come back saying the man is not the father.

The "justice" system is incredibly corrupt on this issue and not only refuses to seek any kind of prosecution of the perpetrators of this fraud but also further piles injustice on by forcing the man who is NOT the father to continue paying in most places. Very few jurisdictions allow a man to stop paying and most of those who do won't even allow him the money he was defrauded out of refunded.

In places where consent to sex can be conditional[1], you might be able to consent to sex only on the condition that the woman does not give birth to any child conceived as a result of that encounter. You'd probably need to get it in writing, and have a very good lawyer, but it might work.

[1] IIRC this is the case in the UK: ISTR a case a while back about a man who slept with a prostitute and left without paying who was convicted of rape because she consented on the condition that he pay her. (This had the weird effect of it being a lesser crime for him to have mugged her for the cash later, which probably wasn't what the judge intended, but that's another matter.)

The three rules:

If she says she is on birth control, assume that she is not.
If she says you are the father, assume that you are not.
If she wants you to sign something, absolutely do not.

The way the laws are set up, men can be locked in by a false claim and then unless they contest it quickly enough - will be forced into paying child support for 18 years, even if it is proven they are not the father.
