Canada's corrupt family court

My father has been through two divorces. He is a truck driver, and he makes ok money, but not great money. Probably around $40k. When my parents got divorced, me and my sister stayed with my mom. My dad was still driving long distance then, and it just made more sense. He didn't have any problem paying child support, and my mom was level headed and rational about it. She didn't attempt to sue for alimony. They are still on good terms.

My father remarried at 50, to a 25 year old. He had no business even asking her out. She was a bullheaded white trash loser. I think he did it out of loneliness. Of course, she had to sink her hooks into him and she got pregnant, even though she told my father she was on birth control. They were married for almost 10 years. When they divorced, she raked my dad across the coals. She immediately moved in with another man, a white trash loser like her. She didn't have to pay rent or make mortgage payments. She demanded custody and child support. My father still sees his daughter on a very regular basis and he has no problem paying child support. Several thousand dollars in legal fees later, and almost two years of frustration, she decided to stop pursuing alimony at the advice of her (free) lawyer because my dad simply doesn't have the money to pay her alimony.

It breaks my heart to hear my sister talk some times. She's at the very least a year ahead of her class in reading and spelling. And when I hear my sister say things like "I seen," it fucking hurts that she's being made stupid by this idiot mother of hers.

Canadian law student here. I have read literally hundreds of family law decisions involving the division of family property and child custody issues. Only very rarely have I come across a decision that I would characterize as unfair or one-sided. I would imagine, however, that both parties in these sort of disputes typically feel that they’ve been treated unjustly, not least because of the astronomical cost of legal fees in this country. That is the real issue here, not some imaginary ‘gynocentric’ boogeywoman.
