Long story short and honest. My wife got wasted while we were out on the town one night and after we got back(I was sober) she started yelling at me as I was trying to sleep about how I was a horrible husband and hurtful stuff etc. I kept telling her to go to bed and that she was drunk and she would randomly just come out of the bedroom and yell in my face and even try to take stuff from me. She got really histerical and threw a glass across the room(not at me) into the kitchen. I decided enough was enough, grabbed her and put her in the hallway so she wouldnt wreck anything else and I could get the car keys, which she had hidden, to drive her to her parents. I come out into the hallway and she is gone with only her clothes on. I figure she is next door calling the cops so i grab my shit and get out of the house because I don't want to deal with cops and I want to look for her if she did go wandering the streets. I camp out that night in my car and a few days later we decide to correct what happened that night and learn from it.

What did happen when she left was she went to a store where someone called the cops and handed her the phone. She told them, in a drunken blur I would guess, that I had hit her, threw her out and locked her out. The cops take her back to our place open the door search for me, then tell my wife that I had 'fled'. They then find my rifle while searching under the bed for me and take it as 'evidence'(later the cop would tell me it was standard proceedure and that he didnt want me running around town with it).

4 days after the incident a cop shows up while I am at home and asks me my story. I tell him cause I have nothing to hide and gives me a court date hearing summons(im not all up on legal terms).

1 month later - I have my rifle back and on the hearing day the prosecutor doesnt even listen to anything I have to say. He tells me he is going to recommend a restraining order. The judge agrees and I tell the judge that we have discussed the issue, are living together thus far since the happening, will gladly go through consultation and that my wife would like to retract some of the statements made that night. He issues it anyways saying 'we take these cases very seriously Mr. mylastname'.

Now I have had to move out and cannot have any direct contact with my wife, whom I have forgiven and miss very much, for about 37 days and who knows if this next court date will even reverse what that judge did.

I would like any advice I could get on how to turn what seems to me like super unethical lawenforcement and decision making into something I can use on my court date. I don't have the money for a lawyer and they wont appoint me one. I'll be representing myself, any tips?
