Slightly off-topic yet within the realm of discussion. Anyone ever notice the jarring change of perceived dominant gender roles when watching, say, I Love Lucy and Everybody Loves Raymond back to back? It hurts my eyes.

In the former, Lucy is the bumbling spaz always causing trouble because she just wants to be a part of her husband's life and to be loved and have Ricky stop beating her senseless when the camera turns off, and in the latter, Raymond is trying to simply survive the bitchy raging lunatic of a wife he has without committing suicide.

That being said, I believe both shows convey a poor message. A good relationship exists between equals, not one or the other.

You know the difference between catching a stray cat and forcing it inside 24/7 vs raising a kitten and forcing inside 24/7? The kitten never knows anything better and will not try to escape constantly (except for curiosity).

That's exactly how this misandry has been allowed to thrive. By subjecting an entire generation, from cradle to the grave, with certain rules like acceptance of female-on-male-violence. Commercials, sitcoms, children shows, books, movies, and school all instill a nice convenient mindset in everyone.

My ex wife was kind of violent. The only way I could stop her from banging her head on the walls was by giving her my own skin to attack. I still have marks on it from her nails.
