Between the ages of 14 and 16, I frequently visited a blog site call Slaying Evil. I'm not sure what attracted me to this website (this was also the time when I was watched anti-feminist, anti-BLM, "Get Rekt" videos).

Slaying Evil is a black manopshere blog site. The creator and his followers are self-proclaimed knights of SYSBM, a philosophy that encourages black men to withdraw from the black community, and to blame its demise on black women. He promotes interracial dating, meanwhile disrespects and dehumanizes black women. In my opinion, the commenters are the most vile. They view white, biracial/multiracial, and non-black women as gods, yet call for the extinction of black women. A few of them have said that black women are better off dead. In one post, the creator posted a post of self-proclaimed femcel. She listed three options, one of which included offing herself. These "men" encouraged this! a They compare them to primates ("Black apes/gorillas/Harambe in a wig.") One of their many excuses is that black women are uncooperative, masculine, and unattractive, while white and non-black WOC are feminine, submissive, attractive, and kind.

As an impressionable early adolescent, a black 14 year old girl, I learned to accept this as facts. I believed that I was different from other black girls because I was reserved, respectable, ladylike, and didn't wear weave. When I saw black girls the opposite of me, I thought to myself, This is why black men don't like black women. They're ghetto and obnoxious, but I'm not like them.

I continued to visit the site up until I was 18, but once I hit this age I realized how ridiculous these "high-value men" truly are. In October 2020, I commented as a black man on the site since I knew they would not take my perspective into consideration if I did not. I think I challenged their views quite well: I called out their hypocrisy on comparing black women to primates, calling out for their deaths, and making disturbing comments about their physical appearances. I talked about colorism and how it impacts the mental health of black men and women, and perhaps it's one of the reasons they behave this way. I used plenty of other points, but it was rebutted by illogical statements. I haven't visited the site in 10 months and it was one of the best decisions I've made.

There's nothing wrong with having a preference ( I, for one, will not date anyone over the age of 22, because I am 19), but to dehumanize others because they do not fit the criteria of your preference is downright wrong. There's nothing wrong with critiquing the state of your community, but to deliver it in this manner isn't it. I'm so glad that I 've grown.

Hopefully, these so-called "men" learn a lesson or two.
