You're a man. You're wonderful. You're not flawed, toxic, problematic, or defective. You're wonderful BECAUSE you're a man. Get used to the idea.

This is an excerpt from a new book *Sometimes I Trip on How Happy We Could Be by Nicole Perkins*. In the book and in the excerpt, the author discusses her childhood impressions and perceptions of the relationship between the Muppet characters Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog, and how this affected her adult understanding of abusive intimate-partner relationships.

"I would eventually realize how abusive the relationship between Kermit and Miss Piggy was...As an adult woman, I saw her issues magnified. She craves attention and flirts wildly, but if Kermit even talks to a female Muppet, Miss Piggy flies off the handle. Kermit is sensitive and thoughtful but walks on eggshells. He is afraid of her. He gives in to her demands to avoid her anger and violence."

Yep, sounds like a pretty fair description of a feminist icon (as championed by mainstream media) to me.

You know I’ve never thought about it this way and I’m ashamed to admit it
