Yeah, I've given this guy a few different views and I have to conclude that he doesn't work for me.

In particular, I think his messaging on masculinity is off.

eg. In the video about TM and the Gillette ad, he goes down the usual route of "if you didn't like it, you're toxic." Mocks those who complain. Holds up universal virtues as masculine attributes - thereby reinforcing masculinity as performative. "My 12-year-old is 'more of a man' than these guys" - yuck.

As for the style, his whole schtick rubs me the wrong way. I'm not American, but I feel like I'm being lectured by the kind of traditionally masculine guy that was totally alien to me growing up.

This video playlist has just under 20 videos all about masculinity from a left leaning commentator who is ex private military contractor and security consultant turned journalist. He has a really level-headed take on these issues and models a really beautiful form of masculinity that I think has bipartisan appeal.

He also is great from a left wing perspective because he appeal to a lot of conservatives and I feel like he can flip a lot of them.
