Because they have brainwashed the culture to think that women really are more opressed than men... which is ridiculous, especially for working class men.

Also, it benefitied capitalism a lot, it means class struggle isn't that important anymore, and working class people were subdivided and lost power, and it fitted well with the service economy.

I don't agree with this take. I don't think feminism is far right, nor would I compare them to the KKK. I think this is a disingenuous smear and only further divides an already divided world/country.

Although we might disagree, we must remain vigilant not become what we have set out to destroy. Let us not allow our anger to become irrational hatred.

It was probably left wing or at least "progressive" in the sense that it opposed traditional gender norms and things like that.

But in the modern world it definitely seems regressive and more aligned with (modern) conservatism. Both economically and culturally / socially.

Feminism hit the breaks pretty hard during the 90s. Especially when it came to giving men their half of the bargain. It turned into retaining privileges (both traditional female and male privileges) without taking on the same responsibilities or following through to the logical conclusion of the movement. Which would have included giving up their privileges associated with family life and becoming responsible for themselves and their actions without male chivalry being there to bail them out constantly.

The modern independent woman is only independent to the extent that it suits her, basically.

In some ways MRAs want to "keep going" and are therefore more radical / progressive than feminism is. In fact Warren Farrell's take on gender is exactly this. His views never really changed from what they were in the 60s during the height of the women's movement. He was sold a promise that once we did all these things for women, we would do all these other things for men. And that never happened so he tried to "keep going" and give men their half of the deal. Which ended up pissing off a lot of feminists.
