I've heard arguments that resemble this. Like the ghostbusters being redone with women was just to shove them in. I didn't watch either movie so I can't really talk about it. Given the poor reviews it does seem like a poorly done job that was just trying to change men to women.

However, this doesn't seem to be a widespread issue to me. Nor does only allowing perfect women seem like a problem. I haven't watched anywhere close to all new TV coming out though.

I've watched Santa Clarita Diet, iZombie, and How to Get Away With Murder. All of these have female leads. In Santa Clarita Diet the main white woman is certainly terrible by murdering and eating multiple people. In iZombie the main woman seems pretty good as a character, but so are the rest of the good guys in the main cast.

How to Get Away With Murder takes the cake. You've got the main character is a black gay/bi woman who is extremely manipulative and covers up murder after murder both from her clients (shes a lawyer) and from her law students and friends. Also like 70% of the main cast is gay/bi in this show and less than half are non-hispanic white. Everyone is just terrible though. Literally every main cast character is a major liar, manipulative, and have either murdered someone or helped murder someone or cover it up.
