Hello all,

The quick TL;DR intro is that I sent an email to a restaurant that was hiring, I also sent an email from a fake account I have with a female name. The fake female account got a response, my real email did not, and the fake female email was intentionally written to be much worse. Screenshots included.

So I've heard about the men's rights movement before, but I never really thought I was personally affected by it. However, in the last year or so I've noticed just how toxic and hostile society seems to be getting towards men. I also notice that my male friends seem to have a much harder time finding jobs, and MRAs say it's because men are discriminated against.

So I decided to test this for myself- I live in Los Angeles, and now that lockdown is over, I'm looking for work. Right now I need just anything to tide me over. So I've gone on craigslist and have been submitting.

3 days, I submitted to this post here. I decided to do a test, and also sent them an email from a fake account I have, "Jennifer Gates". Sure enough, I got a response on the Jennifer account, but not mine.

Here was my original email from my account. You can see I attached my resume, I gave some info, tell why I'd be a good employee, and directly reference some of the things mentioned in the ad.

Now, take a look at the email from "Jennifer". It's sloppy, much shorter, and has no resume. Yet as you can see, it got a reply, an interview for the next day. My real email wasn't answered.

The email from Jennifer was a much worse submission, but got a response. This is very common in "progressive" areas, people think that not hiring men is being "more equal". But everyone does it, so men have a very hard time finding work.

Wow. It's actually like that. It's real. There's a "thing" where my gender actually hurts me looking for work. Hearing about it is one thing, but having it actually happen is another. This actually really bothers me. I've been really struggling to find work, and now I know I have automatic points against me.
