Just thought i'd share this. I felt this could have easily shamed men but instead called on our better selves. Basicly, male blood has certian special qualities that make it medicly usefull. men giving blood saves lives when any non male blood won't. It's nice to be special for a good reason Edit: typos

Good to know! I've considered giving blood many times, but haven't yet done it. I plan on it soon now.

I give regular blood donations. I’ve got pedestrian blood, but someone needs A+ and that’s more of the good stuff for rarer sorts. I think it’s important to support the community, I see donating blood the same way I see shopping locally, paying taxes fairly, and voting.

But I’m not a fan of the system. Every time I go in I get asked a raft of questions aimed at denying gay men the ability to donate. I’m not gay, but this is fucking rude and no longer appropriate. At this point, there is plenty of technology to let gay men donate, even if it requires an additional step.

I don’t like needles. I do like the occasional shirt I’m rewarded with. But 99% of my interest is just doing what I think I should. I assume some gay men feel the same.

I’m glad this person appreciates, but that doesn’t remove my frustration with the system. I urge everyone who can to donate blood, but I urge everyone who does to complain about the now-arbitrary exclusion.

NO.

the uk medical establishment demonizes men with the best of them.

UK circumcisions are down in number, but the option is still legal for cosmetic reasons, and the foreskins are still available on the market.

Men have the short end if the deal in marriage and in legal punishments for crimes.

The UK has no right to the average UK man's blood, and it's within his rights and proper judgement to withhold it until such time as the UK government shows him an amount of respect equal to that shown to the average UK woman.
