Just from the screen shot, do they know a feminine form of the word "hero" already exists? It's "heroine", and has been used for many years already.

History is a gender-neutral term and the "his-" part does not mean male, the whole word is literally derived from the Greek word for "story" circa two millennia ago. I think there have been changes in punctuation and stress since then when speaking, but somehow still spelled almost exactly the same.
