I am a 20 year old male of Indian ethnicity from Virginia. I found TRP a few months ago, and started lurking on it about a month later. So far, almost all the established stuff on the sidebar seems to hold a lot of truth, and a lot of what's on here has made things about the world, especially women, a lot clearer for me.

A lot of my pre-18 years was pathetic. I was so focused on school and resume building, and I just neglected teen love altogether effectively, mainly because I was too much of a pussy to get rejected. Also, all my friends were beta to the core. However, it did get a bit better in college. So far in college, I've done well academically, but there is still a lot of strides to be made, especially in terms of the sexual marketplace. In my freshman year of college, I felt like me in HS again, mostly because I chose to only hang out with betas who played video games all day. But in the summer after my freshman year, I rushed and pledged a fraternity. The fraternity did introduce me to a more desirable group of friends, some of which included alphas, but two semesters later, I've realized that many in the fraternity are betas, and only a select few are actually getting laid. Also, I've been the butt of a lot of jokes/teases, and recently realized how frequent it’s been compared to others. I've been on a few dates, almost had one kiss, but have yet to get laid after an uncountable number of rejections and snubs. I still like slightly more than half the chapter, but the only way my situation and that of the chapter will get better is with a better fall pledge class, and with me being more assertive, which I did a decent job of last semester (in a way that maintains frame).

I've thought a lot about how my parents raised me, and even though I love them, I cannot ignore what was left out. They are fairly westernized, so I thought I was being raised just like an American. But having seen/heard so much, I've recently realized that Indians living in the States have a distinct culture from any other ethinc group. As of now, I'm determined to learn what I wasn't taught or couldn't have been taught. I'm not here to race-whine or complain about being a kissless virgin (I'm mostly done with the anger phase), and although I have gotten over not really having any teen-love, I am a bit worried about my far-below average lack of experience now. I've taken some steps toward bettering myself and my SMV: I'm dressing a lot better with better looking clothes that fit, I've grown a clean-looking beard, and I've been lifting for a month now and have some small gains.

Right now, I'm not focusing on girls for these next two months because I have a big research project I'm doing this summer at another university, and I want to put a lot of focus into lifting. When fall semester at my home institution starts, I'd like to put an increased SMV to use. Is there something other than what I've listed that I should consider doing? I had some exposure to sexual marketplace opportunities last fall/spring, but it was mostly at parties w/loud music and always unsuccessful (no closing). What are some other places for exposure opportunity? Too many 2nd/3rd gen guys like me end up whipped all their life either by their parents, society's expectations, and/or their narrow-mindedness toward success. I may be a bit late to the game, but I will do whatever it takes now to not be one of those guys.
