We always see violence against women, that’s good and needs to be talked about, however people have been using it to paint all women as victims and all men as the problem and threats. We need to make violence against men a popular topic as most victims of violence are men but people seem to forget about this and if we do talk about it, people just say “well it’s done by other men” and completely dismiss it.
Men are victims of violence just as much if not more yet they’re never talked about. We never hear specific cases about men and talk about how to make society safer for men unlike with women (Sarah everard). Whenever Sarah Everard is mentioned it’s always specifically made about women but this never happens with men.
The only times I’ve seen men being specifically mentioned is when they die in an unusual way and the story isn’t brought up to bring awareness to mens issues but to be used as some kind of entertainment, like just some horror story.
People forget about men, they don’t care about men. To them, mens lives are worth less.
