I don't really know why its the third party... they may not be a good person but its a little weird to me to place the responsibility of someone's else's relationship outside the couple. I'd hold the wife accountable, she's the one who made the commitment not the other dude.

According to the divorce lawyer he handles one of these cases a year his entire 30 year legal career. I hand not idea. The article says in six states: North Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, New Mexico, Hawaii, and Mississippi, you can sue for loss of affection from your spouse by someone, generally a younger woman, who steals your spouse. And the settlements are in the hundreds of thousands, even millions. You are suing the one who broke up your marriage so that means, if you're lucky, your ex cheats with a rich guy.

Honestly, I have mixed feelings. Under this law it seems like a guy who has sex with a woman he doesn’t even know is married could be sued.
