I wonder if anybody has done any research to see what is the different prison sentence between if a man does this versus a woman does it. Like if a man teacher has sex with a student cuz he get 50 damn years. If a female teacher has sex with a student does she get 15 years. I've always wondered what the difference in the sentence is or if they're the same.

I’ll ask the same question I would ask if the sexes were reversed: did the other person know and understand what they were doing or did the arrested individual have coercive authority over them? Regardless of their sexes, if the answer to the first is “no” or the second is “yes”, it’s rape.

The takeaway from this, I gather, is that either women need to be labeled as rapists when they break the same laws that men do, OR, the age of consent needs to be taken into question with regards to what constitutes as "rape" if the subject (not victim) was consenting.

Well agreed on the double standard, although if it's "consensual" it's not a rape, sure at this age we might agree that the pre-teenager has not a full notion of consensuality but it's not a crime as strong as non consensual sex I believe since it should be less likely to induce PTSD/rape comorbidities. As a reminder the *average* age of first sexual intercourse (or sexual debut) is 15.6 years (AKA a lot of people have sex at 14).

(note that I assume the sex was consensual, I have not looked in this story per se as I have other things to do with my life)
