I am making a project about the men's rights movement from the 20th century to today. What things should I most certainly include?

Mens rights movements are mainly, ill come back to may in a minute, aimed at addressing the social imbalances against men.

There is loads of info on this sub about it, whether it's higher rates of suicide, incarceration, lower spending on Healthcare (in countries with socialized healthcare), lower funding on medical research (particularly government funding, less benefit in terms of paternity leave, less support systems for issues like domestic violence, single parents etc. The unjust and incomparable prison sentences are a big bone of contention for me

There is also a lot of misandry, such as stating that men are all rapists, men should die, kill all men etc, caveated with a meaningless "not all men".

There is also a lot of misinformation, such as people claiming in the uk that women receive longer prison sentences then men. While true that when a woman receives her first prison sentence it is longer than a man would recieve for the same crime, this is because women don't generally get sebt to prison on the first / second offenses whereas men do. So yes it is longer because its a second or third offense, when the equivalent male in the situation has already been to prison. Of that makes sense?

The look at victim blaming, people blaming the partiearchy and men for mens issues.

Some people try to hijack the movement and make it anti women. Thats not whats it about. The number of people doing this has increased on this sub since mgtow got shut down.

The thing is if we adress these issues, as we adtess the issues facing women, then we can all succeed. If we ignore these issues then we will not end up with a fair and balanced society

"Why is there a men's rights movement?"

Well, Warren Farrel is considered by some to be the grandfather of the mens rights movement with him writing the myth of male power.

Warren Farrel before then was a member of the feminist movement. He was cast out for thinking outside the orthodoxy with that book.

So to answer why is there a men's rights movement the answer could be two fold.

Men have actual issues in how they're treated in society and these cannot be resolved by condemning and villainizing men. In fact some of these issues are linked to feminine privileges and lack of accountability and as such cannot be solved by mistreating men, increasing their responsibilities or curtailing their rights.
Feminism refuses to acknowledge 1 is a fact.

If Feminism stood for equality there would be no mens rights movement, simple as. There is a mens rights movement, therefore...

I would place great emphasis on the point that male sacrifice is taken as a given by "society." Men are automatically expected to work for anything/everything and anyone/everyone but themselves, yet they're also expected to cede ever increasing amounts of authority to others.

Responsibility without authority is slavery.
