It was good to see that a woman and her son-in-law, who falsely accused four men and ruined their lives, were punished accordingly. Somehow the real victims didn't have to spend their lives as criminals.

But it was sad to know that the accusation happened in 2014 but it took 2021 to confirm it was false. Hope nothing bad happened to the victims in the years.

India has some of the worst rape laws in the world. The moment a woman accuses someone of rape all she needs to do is make a statement in front of magistrate. Her statement is taken to be true and is enough to put a guy behind the bars.

It's a non bailable offense that is only courts can give bail to the guy.

Also sex on the pretext of marriage is considered as rape. And Feminist have actively lobbied, protested against making these laws gender neutral.
