I found this on mensrights and thought it was a good read describing the shenanigans of radical feminists co-opting an attempt to make a dent in the horrible culture of hollywood. By demonizing men and unjustly destroying some men's lives in the process.

I don't like that this calls rumors and ostracism a form of violence. For someone who seems to understand the problem with equating speech and violence, I don't understand why they do it themselves.

How are rumors and ostracism not violence? Especially considering the destructive effects both things lead to. You can ruin a man's life way more effectively with a well placed rumor than with a fist to the face.

words have definitions; negative results for someone doesn't make something violence

MeToo was and is about limiting men's ability to successfully court women so that women can have more leverage over men in the dating scene. Yesterday I read about Huma Abeddin coming out that she was "sexually assaulted" by a senator. But what happened in her story is that she was sitting on the couch with him and he initiated a kiss. She pushed him off and he said he misread her and apologized. Honest mistake, just like what happened with Aziz Ansari. But by modern standards, this is now considered sexual assault. So basically, a man cannot make the first move anymore without risking being accused of sexual assault. The fact of the matter is though, men almost always have to make the first move in order to get anywhere with women. It is only the hottest guys who have women making the first move on them. Actually, pretty much the only time I have ever heard of women initiating sexual encounters it is older women with significantly younger guys. So essentially yeah this new rule makes it much more difficult for your average guy to score with women, and that is exactly what it is intended to do. In a sexually liberated world where men know they can enjoy the bachelor life well into their 40s, men will be less likely to lower their standards or resign themselves to simphood. Women would actually have to get their act together and be decent partners. This is the same reason why feminists are against legalized prostitution btw. The whole idea is to sexually starve us into submission so that we're more likely to put up with their bullshit.
