Every year on international men's day (or the national men's day in my country) I get really anxious because of all the stuff on social media. There's this specific Instagram humor page that basically translates my country's expressions to English to meme about it. It has one and a half millions followers and every year is the same thing.

On every [inter]national men's day they make sure to translate all the "toxic masculinity" expressions on their page, instead on focusing on what the day is about. On the comments, everyone who mentions this is misogynistic. It's really infuriating. To make matters worse, yesterday they also posted about women's entrepreneur day, highlighting all of the women that are entrepreneurs in my country. I totally get it, it's ok to recognize their accomplishments. But why dunk on men so bad? On the day that you are supposed to say good things about men?

Also, last year I commented about this to my girlfriend, how I don't agree with it and I think it's wrong. She just shrugged it off and said something along the lines of "It is a joke anyway. Women suffer everyday, we can say these things about men" as if stuff like this isn't said everyday. Now I have to write this on a throwaway account because I don't want her to read it on my main.
